In a clear and uncompromising moment of the film, Jarmbi Miles speaks to the central strategy of colonization: the deliberate severing of Indigenous peoples from the Earth. He names how disconnection from land was never incidental, it was a calculated attempt to break the source of ancestral power, memory, and sovereignty. As a regional custodian of the Northern Rivers on the east coast of Australia, Jarmbi speaks from lived responsibility to Country. He explains that connection to land is not symbolic, it is the ground of identity, the conduit to ancestors, and the foundation of law, wellbeing, and resistance. To remove people from land was to interrupt their relationship with ancestry itself. Jarmbi reminds us that this rupture did not end in the past. Its impacts continue wherever land is treated as property rather than kin. And yet, he insists, reconnection remains possible. Reconnecting to Earth is not nostalgia, it is restoration. It is how power, dignity, and collective healing return. Working across Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, Jarmbi frames this work as shared and urgent: sovereignty, environmental protection, human rights, and trauma healing are inseparable. To reconnect with the Earth is to reconnect with each other and with a future not governed by extraction. ✨ Experience this teaching in In the Circle of Life Join us for the Virtual Film Premiere + 5-Day Online Gathering with Wisdom Keepers from the film 🗓️ January 20–24, 2026 🎬 Register to watch the film and join the gathering Link in bio and theeternalsong.org/Circle/ #InTheCircleOfLife #JarmbiMiles #Country #LandIsLife #AboriginalWisdom #Reconnection #Sovereignty #IntergenerationalHealing #FilmPremiere #tes #itcol
